About Shannon
Shannon is a registered dietitian (RD) licensed in multiple states. She became a RD after being diagnosed with intestinal ganglioneuromatosis as an adolescent that affects her GI tract and kidneys. The RDs on Shannon's care team was what made her passionate in nutrition. Not only does Shannon have personal experience navigating the world of nutrition in her own health journey, she has a clinical background helping those with cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes, and more manage their acute conditions. She now sees clients in an outpatient counseling setting and is passionate about working with those with concerns of diabetes, GI conditions, and women's health.
Approach to care
Shannon's approach to care is individualized from client to client. No single approach works for everyone because no one is exactly the same. When working with Shannon, you can expect science-backed interventions. She structures her sessions by meeting each client where they are at on their nutrition journey. Shannon encourages you to set small attainable goals which help with accountability and staying on track to reach your long-term health goals.
Your first session with Shannon
In your first session you can expect to do a deep dive into your medical background, daily routines, your typical eating habits, and the reason why you wanted to see a dietitian in order for Shannon to get to know you better and help you form sustainable goals as you work towards bettering your health and wellness.
