About Shay
I'm Shay Fisher MS, RDN, LDN - A nutrition professional with a passion for evidence-based practice, clinical excellence, and a desire to empower others through food. I hold both a bachelor's and master's degree in Nutrition from Drexel University and completed my dietetic internship at Yale New Haven Hospital. My experience spans clinical nutrition, research, and education. I've counseled patients with complex medical needs, contributed to published research in metabolic health and body composition, and taught cooking and nutrition courses to university students. I'm driven by compassion and a commitment to making nutrition accessible, practical, and personalized for every individual I work with.
Approach to care
My approach to nutrition care is grounded in evidence-based practice, clinical accuracy, and patient-centered communication. I prioritize individualized care that supports both medical outcomes and overall well-being. My counseling style emphasizes empathy, active listening, and motivational interviewing to help you build confidence in your ability to make meaningful dietary changes.
Your first session with Shay
In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgement-free environment where we focus on understanding your health goals, medical history, and day-to-day lifestyle. I will begin be reviewing any relevant health information and asking questions that help me build a full picture of your nutritional needs. We'll talk through your eating patterns, preferences, challenges, and routines so I can identify what's working well and where support may be helpful. Together, we'll outline clear, realistic goals and discuss personalized strategies that fit your needs. My priority is to ensure you feel heard, understood, and empowered from the very first visit.
