About Shelisha

Hi, I’m Shelisha—feel free to call me “She!” With over 20 years of experience in food and nutrition, I bring a wealth of expertise in prediabetes and diabetes management. I’m passionate about sharing practical tips and strategies with patients from all walks of life, helping them achieve their health goals. Over the years, I’ve gained experience across various sectors of food and nutrition, including clinical nutrition, community nutrition, weight-loss facilities, corporate wellness, retail for nutritional supplements, food service, and public health. My goal is to help you prevent, delay, or manage diabetes while keeping things engaging and fun! Outside of my career in nutrition, I enjoy spending time with my amazing husband and our yorkie, Mocha. :)

Approach to care

I understand the importance of taking action quickly to prevent complications of high blood sugar so I use gentle accountability as my approach. I also provide real, practical tips, using a person-centered approach. We will focus heavily on education to empower you to make decisions for your own care that you feel are best and are comfortable with.

Your first session with Shelisha

In your initial session you will share about your past medical history, eating & fitness habits, food preferences, etc. The purpose of this is to capture pertinent information that will help in understanding your whole health. We will discuss what you would like to "get" out of our counseling sessions together and your nutrition goals.
