About Sherin

I am a Registered and New York State-Certified Dietitian with 10+ years of experience. My passion for nutrition started when I realized the impact food had on our physical and mental wellbeing. I grew up eating junk food and developed a chronic disease in my late teens. When I started to incorporate healthy lifestyle changes, I realized that I can change my condition through diet and exercise. Whether you're navigating a health condition, healing your relationship with food, or simply trying to feel your best, my goal is to support you with empathy and encouragement every step of the way.

Approach to care

I blend science-based nutrition with a deeply personalized, compassionate approach. I believe that food is not just fuel - it's connection, culture, healing, and empowerment. Rather than relying on one-size-fits-all plans or rigid rules, I work collaboratively with each client to understand their body, lifestyle, preferences, and challenges.

Your first session with Sherin

During our first session, we’ll start by chatting about your personal health goals. I’ll ask about any medical conditions, allergies, medications, or other factors that could affect your nutritional needs. We’ll talk about where your current diet is supporting your health and where it might need adjustments. I’ll explain basic principles of healthy eating and how they apply to your specific needs. Based on your goals and lifestyle, I’ll suggest realistic, achievable changes. I’ll offer meal ideas, recipe suggestions, and tips for grocery shopping or meal prepping to make the changes easier for you to implement. We can discuss a follow-up schedule to ensure you stay on track and feel supported. My goal is to make this process as personalized and approachable as possible. You’re in the driver’s seat, and I’ll be here to support you with evidence-based guidance every step of the way!

Education

I have a bachelor's degree in nutrition from University of Houston and a master's degree in nutrition from from Ball State University.

Hobbies

I like to hike, travel, dance, read, cook, and practice tai chi :)
