About Sherrie

Aloha! I’m Sherrie, a Registered Dietitian, Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach based in Honolulu, HawaiŹ»i. With more than 30 years of experience, I now specialize in diabetes care and prevention, weight management, emotional eating, and women’s health. I have a special interest in helping women move through perimenopause and menopause with clarity and confidence, understanding how hormonal changes can impact weight, energy, mood, and cravings. As a recreational runner, I also love working with clients on race training and performance nutrition—covering smart fueling for workouts, recovery, and race day success.

Approach to care

I believe nourishment is more than what’s on your plate—it’s how you care for yourself, manage your energy, and build a life that supports long-term health. My approach is warm, individualized, and rooted in respect. I focus on lifestyle-based strategies that strengthen metabolic health, build resilience to stress, and support lasting habit change. By integrating evidence-based nutrition, motivational interviewing, and mindful self-care, I help clients create sustainable routines centered on nourishment rather than restriction. We’ll work together to design a practical, personalized plan that aligns with your hormone and blood sugar patterns, daily habits, and lifestyle. Whether your goal is better labs, smoother transitions through perimenopause or menopause, increased energy, building strength, or creating routines you can truly maintain, we'll focus on strategies that feel realistic and sustainable in your real life.

Your first session with Sherrie

Your first session is meant to feel comfortable and collaborative—not like a formal appointment. It’s a judgment-free conversation focused entirely on you. You don’t need to have everything figured out—that’s what this space is for. We’ll spend time getting to know your health history, daily routines, relationship with food, and what inspired you to seek support, so we can start building a plan that truly fits your life. We’ll also explore what motivates you, along with any barriers that may be getting in the way. Before we wrap up, we’ll identify one or two realistic, meaningful goals and schedule your next visit. Ongoing sessions are where real change unfolds. I usually recommend meeting weekly for the first month, then shifting to every other week as your confidence and momentum build. Lastly, I’m committed to inclusive, affirming care and warmly welcome members of the LGBTQ+ community.
