About Sherrie
Aloha and welcome to Nourish! My name is Sherrie, and I'm a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). For the past 30 years, my passion has been motivating people to become healthier. My professional work experience includes 15+ years as a telehealth dietitian, 5 years as CDC Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle coach, and as a staff dietitian in outpatient diabetes education programs, in-center dialysis facilities, acute care hospitals, long-term care, weight management and community-based nutrition programs.
Approach to care
As a wellness dietitian, I partner with individuals seeking self-directed, lasting changes aligned with their strengths, values, and lifestyle. As we work together, my goal as an RD coach is to combine my expertise in human nutrition with my coaching skills in order to unleash motivation to reach your personal health goals while meeting you at your level of readiness. I am always striving to display unconditional positive regard for my clients, and believe in one's capacity for change, while ensuring that all interactions are respectful and display a judgment-free approach. I believe in a holistic approach to health, whereby optimal well-being is achieved when mind, body, spirit, and creative energies are aligned to meet one's goals and purpose.
Your first session with Sherrie
Your first visit is all about you. I understand meeting with a dietitian for the first time is often a big step for many. Our initial session may include a conversation about your health history, eating patterns, and daily routine; nutrition assessment to understand lifestyle, medical history and nutritional needs; assessing your readiness for change and exploring what’s worked (and not worked) in the past; setting expectations for your health journey; individualizing a plan with goals tailored to your preferences, strengths, and values; and scheduling recurring follow ups to ensure ongoing accountability and support. You're welcome to work with me as often or as long as you'd like, and you're always free to adjust our schedule to fit your priorities.
