About Sigourney
Sigourney is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in the Fredericksburg VA area. She has worked in several areas of practice (long term care, skilled nursing homes, critical care, and eating disorder clinics). She has been practicing as a RDN for approximately 5 years with a diverse education in nutrition and health. She understands that life can be challenging and it is impossible to be 'perfect', but with the healthy habits and education we can strive to be the best version of ourselves. Her words of constant affirmation she offers to her patients is, "I am doing the best I can with what I have and that is enough."
Approach to care
Sigourney is compassionate for others and fully believes ‘it is never just about the food.’ By understanding the emotional and behavioral sides of nutrition, Sigourney is here to empower her clients with knowledge and tools to improve their overall health. She is passionate about furthering healthcare in person-centered care and focusing more on the holistic nutrition rather than a single diagnosis.
Your first session with Sigourney
Your first session with Sigourney is conversational in nature where medical, emotional, and physical history is reviewed. This will enable Sigourney to develop a comprehensive nutrition plan tailored to your needs. She is understanding that it can be intimidating to talk with medical professionals. Her goal is to create a relaxed environment where you can share concerns and challenges in a nonjudgmental way. To close the first session goals and action items will be established to be reviewed on the sessions to come.
