About Sophia
Hi there, I'm Sophia — a registered dietitian and certified personal trainer with years of experience in helping people transform not only their health, but their overall lives. My passion for nutrition and counseling began as a collegiate volleyball athlete when I started using current research to tailor my personalized nutrition needs for athletic performance. Aside from athletic performance, my mental health improved, and I learned how important nutrition is in overall holistic health. That experience drove me to completing my Master's of Nutrition and receiving my RDN credential. I have had experience in all areas of dietetics including clinical short-term and long-term acute care for obesity, diabetes, gut-health, and more, Division I athletes at University of Miami, nonprofit work in community settings, and many more. With additional training in dialysis/kidney care and sports performance, I combine both current research and behavior change to create sustainable results.
Approach to care
Nutrition care is never a cookie-cutter process. My approach combines research-backed guidance with a highly individualized approach, because everyone’s relationship with food is different. I pay attention to the science, your labs, medical background, and goals, but I also make space for your personal story, daily environment, and the way you feel about eating. Together, we dig into the reasons behind your habits and create realistic, sustainable strategies that work in your everyday life. My job is to support you with compassion and clarity, helping you move toward changes that feel doable and truly stick. I strive to empowering individuals, whether you're navigating weight-management goals, optimizing athletic performance, or simply striving to feel healthier and stronger.
Your first session with Sophia
During your first session, my main goal is to learn about you as a whole person. We’ll cover more than your diet—I’ll ask about your usual eating patterns, physical activity, stress, and sleep, as all of these influence your overall, holistic health. Understanding these pieces helps me get a clear sense of your daily life so we can design a plan that’s realistic and tailored to you. Above all, I want the session to feel warm, safe, and judgment-free. I’m here to listen, support you, and work with you, never criticize. I’m looking forward to hearing your story and creating a plan that helps have more life and energy to feel your best!
