About Sophie

My name is Sophie and I am an adventurous, extroverted, and down to earth practitioner looking to help others learn about the positive ways food can impact their lives to build confidence in themselves. I have 12 years experience in the nutrition industry and have had my own struggles with nutrition. However, this has only helped me empathize with clients and become a more adequate and well-rounded clinician. My main specialties include diabetes, PCOS, and sports nutrition but I also treat a variety of different diseases.

Approach to care

Research has proven higher success rates when someone is present to hold them accountable. I act as that accountability factor while working with you in a goal-oriented manner find your "why" behind learning and making changes to your nutrition and lifestyle habits. I believe the right mixture between western and eastern medicine practices such as dietary therapy or "food is medicine" approach and daily exercise therapy (working out, cardio, lifting weights) can assist you in managing disease, stress, and overall better health to help you reach your goals.

Your first session with Sophie

In the first session, I complete a nutrition assessment to gather background about your food and beverage patterns at home and outside the home (restaurants, parties, work etc.), your activity, lifestyle, sleep habits, supplements and medication taken regularly to get a baseline starting point. I ask for your goals and work in accordance with you to implement nutrition, lifestyle, and exercise changes to help you reach your goals. I always recommend exercise as I see these as pertinent for internal health and have seen faster results with patients who comply with activity. I can assure you I will always validate your feelings and experience as well in order to find a solution to any struggles you may be having.
