About Stacy
Hello there! I'm Stacy (she/her). As a registered dietitian (RD) and Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO), I specialize in helping cancer patients eat well before, during, and after treatment. I'm passionate about helping individuals with cancer practice healthy eating while still enjoying the comfort and joy that food can bring. There is so much misinformation out there regarding cancer and nutrition, and I love being able to work with clients to clear up their questions and give them a sense of peace. In fact, I often joke with my colleagues that I should have "myth-buster" on my resume! Whether you have just been diagnosed or you are a cancer survivor looking to reduce your risk of recurrence, I am here and ready to apply my 10 years of oncology nutrition experience to support you. I am also taking clients for general healthy eating, cancer prevention, tube feeding management, weight management (loss/gain), heart health, and diabetes. Please don't be shy to reach out!
Approach to care
My approach is that all foods can fit in a healthful eating plan. For oncology and non-oncology clients alike, I focus on tailoring your nutrition plan to you as an individual-- no cookie cutters around here (unless you're literally making cookies, that is). I firmly believe that lasting nutrition changes are best made in small, incremental steps that feel achievable. I consider us equal partners in this journey together. I tend to be a straight-talker, and will give you gentle but direct and honest answers to your questions.
Your first session with Stacy
The goal of our first session is for me to be able to understand you, your lifestyle, your major nutrition-related goals, and any barriers that you experience to achieving those goals. This step can seem tedious, but it is vital to ensure that your resulting nutrition plan is catered to you. Once I learn about your background, we will work together to break down your goals into actionable steps. For clients who are coming to me for symptom management (for example, maybe you want to learn about the best ways to control diarrhea during radiation treatment or chemotherapy), I can often make time to provide you with this education in your first session.
