About Stephanie

Hi. My name is Stephanie and I'm so happy you're considering me as your provider. While you're here, let me tell you a little about myself. Since I was a little girl growing up in rural Iowa, I knew I wanted to be a dietitian. I’ve always had a passion for food, a fascination for the health sciences, and a love for fitness, so this career has always felt like a natural fit. Fast forward many years — and a move to Texas — and I’ve now been a registered dietitian for over 25 years!! Yep, that means I've been practicing since before the internet was part of everyday life! Over those years, I’ve seen food fads come and go, science evolve at warp speed, and health advice get more confusing. What I offer is a balanced, common‑sense approach to nutrition that helps you cut through the noise and focus on your goals.

Approach to care

My approach is all about keeping things simple, supportive, and goal‑focused. I love making nutrition easy to understand, so you can feel confident about your health without stressing over numbers on a scale. Together, we’ll laugh a little, learn a lot, and focus on building lasting wellness.

Your first session with Stephanie

Our first session is really about you. I’ll spend most of the time getting to know your background, your relationship with food, and what brought you here. We will walk through what you eat over the course of a few days and discover your patterns. I'll also review your health history, current medications, and any recent lab results so I can get the full picture of your health. This helps me understand your unique journey and ensures I can meet you right where you are. We may talk through one or two small recommendations to get you started, but the real focus comes in future sessions — that’s when we’ll dive deeper into your goals and spend more time on teaching, strategies, and practical steps that fit your life.

Education

I had the pleasure of attending college in the beautiful Texas hill country. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at Texas State University and completed my post grad work there too.

Hobbies

I love being outdoors — whether it’s walking my two dogs, swimming, paddleboarding, biking, running, or simply soaking up the sun with my bearded dragon, Pancake. I’m also passionate about food: cooking it, baking it, and of course, enjoying it. My husband and I are big fans of the Houston Astros, and I also enjoy Zumba, Disney, and curling up with a good book. One of my greatest joys, though, is still being a mom to two amazing grown daughters.
