About Summer
Hi there! Iām Summer, a Registered Dietitian with a heart for helping others feel their best from the inside out. I began my career with the PHFE WIC program as a Nutritionist, where I discovered my deep passion for womenās and childrenās nutritionāespecially during the pre- and postnatal journey. During my time there, I built meaningful connections with families, created lasting memories, and had the privilege of contributing to programs like Cinnamoms, which supports the health of African American families. My work has given me valuable experience in connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, as well as training in cultural sensitivity, equity, and supporting those with limited resources. Iām truly excited to walk alongside you, sharing the tools and personalized nutrition strategies that can fuel, strengthen, and heal your body. Food is such a beautiful part of lifeāit can energize, sustain, and transform us in ways that are nothing short of amazing.
Approach to care
As a dietitian, my approach blends intuitive eating with functional medicine to help clients heal their relationship with food while addressing root causes of health concerns. I guide individuals to tune into hunger and fullness cues, release restrictive rules, and rediscover joy in eating without guilt. Using a functional medicine lens, I explore how nutrition, lifestyle, and environmentāsuch as habits, gut health, and stressorsāaffect well-being. Together, we create sustainable strategies that nourish the body, support long-term health, and build self-trust. I use motivational interviewing as a friendly strategy session to identify changes that work for you and gauge readiness for your first stepāor leap. I believe small, realistic tweaks can snowball into a lifestyle that feels amazing and effortless. Iām here to guide and cheer you on every step of the way.
Your first session with Summer
I am a firm believer in building rapport and enjoying time together. So in our first session together, you can expect us to spend some time breaking the ice. Then we will discuss your goals and/or concerns related to your health and nutrition, and lastly, brainstorm together and set a plan for your first steps towards your nutrition and health goals.
