About Sydney
Sydney has been a registered dietitian for over two years, working in a hospital setting with a focus on gastrointestinal health. She has collaborated with leading interdisciplinary teams in New York City, specializing in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, including support before and after surgical interventions and/or disease flare. One of her key passions is helping patients navigate the transition and find a safe, sustainable path to nourishment and confidence with eating again.
Approach to care
Sydney believes a healthy relationship with food goes beyond eating the “right” things. Like many of her clients, she once felt overwhelmed by nutrition. In her early 20s, she struggled with GI symptoms and rigid food rules disguised as “wellness,” often choosing what seemed healthiest over what actually felt good—leaving her stressed and unfulfilled. After earning her undergraduate degree, Sydney completed a master’s in clinical nutrition and a 52-week dietetic internship. This experience shifted her understanding of nutrition from a set of rules to a science rooted in care and sustainability. Today, she helps clients move away from fear-based eating and toward a more balanced, compassionate approach. Her work emphasizes that food is self-care—not punishment—and should fuel and support us, not restrict or stress us.
Your first session with Sydney
Your first session with Sydney is all about getting to know you — your goals, your health history, your relationship with food, and what you hope to get out of nutrition counseling. Sydney creates a non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about your experiences, symptoms, routines, and any challenges you're facing. She’ll review your medical background, eating patterns, lifestyle factors, and any GI symptoms or concerns you may have. Together, you'll explore what’s currently working for you, where there may be gaps, and how nutrition can play a supportive role in your overall well-being. Rather than overwhelming you with strict rules or generic plans, Sydney focuses on building a realistic, personalized approach that fits into your life. The goal of the first session is to leave you feeling heard, supported, and empowered with a clear starting point for moving forward.
