About Sydney
I was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, and earned my undergraduate degree in Dietetics with a minor in Nutritional Science from BYU-Provo. While there, I worked as a research assistant on a published study about vitamin E and chemotherapy’s effects on prostate cancer. My passion for becoming an RD led me to switch from Nutritional Science to Dietetics. At the age of 20, I volunteered in Argentina as a full-time missionary, and along the way witnessed food insecurity's impacts on people's health. My husband and I welcomed our first baby in July 2024.
Approach to care
My passion lies in empowering individuals to cultivate a positive relationship with food and their bodies. My approach is rooted in evidence-based principles, blending the art of intuitive eating with the science of nutrition to help you find balance and enjoyment in eating. Together, we create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where your goals and values shape the path forward. This collaborative approach ensures that changes are sustainable and personally meaningful. I advocate for a diet that includes all foods, emphasizing variety, moderation, and nourishment rather than restriction. Every food has a place, and we focus on creating a sustainable and enjoyable lifestyle.
Your first session with Sydney
Our first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll explore your health history, lifestyle, current relationship with food, eating habits, and any challenges or goals you’d like to address. Together, we’ll examine your typical meals, snacks, food choices, and patterns, including hunger, fullness, satisfaction cues, and any specific challenges. We’ll set goals that are personalized, achievable, and flexible to fit your needs. This session is free of judgment, restrictive meal plans, or unrealistic expectations. My focus is on inclusion, balance, and helping you build a sustainable, positive relationship with food.
