About Sydney
Sydney enjoys working closely with her clients to create individualized care for those who are seeking to increase their quality of life, enhance their physical/mental wellbeing, manage/prevent diabetes/high blood pressure, achieve weight loss, make healthy dietary choices, and/or to improve laboratory markers of health. Sydney is passionate about working those who are not only looking for general weight loss, but also those pre and post Bariatric Surgery and those who are taking weight loss medications. She finds it important to stay up to date with ever changing nutrition research and often spends her free time listening to podcasts and divulging in newly released research. Sydney has had to follow a gluten free diet for over the past 10 years, and is excited to share the nutrition knowledge on this subject.
Approach to care
I strive to help you create realistic goals that are not only achievable, but sustainable long term. I find that it is essential to explain the scientific evidence behind why changes should be implemented so that you will be empowered to make informed nutrition choices outside of our sessions. I recognize that everyone has their own journey, and I will be sure to match your pace. Change is hard and can be scary, so I promise to provide you with the motivation to push forward and give you guidance to make the transitions less overwhelming. It is my objective for you to feel like you have the knowledge and confidence needed to take the next steps by the end of each appointment.
Your first session with Sydney
It is my goal to build a foundation around developing a relationship where you feel heard. It is important for me to create a comfortable, nonjudgemental space for you to ask questions and feel safe sharing information with me. I will ask questions to get to know your medical history, recent labs, current and previous relationships with food, eating habits, and then discuss what you are looking to achieve in our meetings. Together, we will identify the best starting point to getting us going in the direction of our ultimate goal.
