About Tamar
I am a Registered Dietitian based in NYC with extensive experience working with both children and adults. I am a runner myself and love working with endurance athletes on ways to fuel performance and every day life. My personal favorite distance is the marathon! I have also worked in various areas of health and nutrition including with individuals with type I and type II diabetes (experience with CGMs and insulin pumps), hypertension, and with those navigating pregnancy and postpartum. I love spending time in Central Park with my husband, our dog Roo, and 8 month old son Eli.
Approach to care
I take a patient-centered approach to care, meeting you where you are and guiding the sessions in a collaborative way. As no two individuals are the same, I work to understand your lifestyle, culture, preferences, likes, and dislikes in order to come up with a plan together that you feel excited about.
Your first session with Tamar
If your first session we will do a comprehensive review of your background and health history. We will discuss your reasoning for seeking out nutrition counseling and review your overarching goals. We will begin setting small goals that you can work on by the end of the first session.
