About Tamar
I am a Registered Dietitian based in NYC with extensive experience working with both children and adults. I am a runner myself (yes, on purpose) and love helping endurance athletes fuel for performance and every day life - including the very important decision making process of gels vs. chews and why your stomach has opinions on both. My personal favorite distances are half and full marathons - long enough to be humbling, short enough to sign up again. My background spans a wide range of nutrition care, including type I and type II diabetes (with experience using CGMs and insulin pumps), hypertension, pregnancy, and postpartum. Outside of work, I love spending time in Central Park with my husband, our dog Roo, our toddler Eli, and our newest addition 3-month-old Ori.
Approach to care
I take a patient-centered, collaborative approach to care, without one-size-fits-all plans. I focus on understanding your lifestyle, culture, preferences, and goals so we can build something realistic and sustainable. The goal is a plan that fits into your life and feels exciting to follow, not another set of rules to juggle.
Your first session with Tamar
In your first session we will do a deep dive into your health history, current routines, and what brought you to nutrition counseling. We'll clarify your goals and start identifying small, actionable steps you can begin working on right away. * Please note I do not specialize in weight loss.
