About Tammilee

As former Division I All American in the Heptathlon and a former representative of Jamaica in Track & Field, my involvement in sports led me to nutrition as I sought to understand the impact of nutrition on athletic performance. I graduated from The University of Alabama with a BS in Nutrition Science and Texas Tech University with a MS in Nutrition Science and completed my Dietetic training at Mt. Sinai hospital in New York. I then completed culinary courses and a culinary nutrition internship at the University of Alabama. I became a licensed Dietitian in 2016 and began my career in sports nutrition & geriatrics. When given the opportunity I ventured into kidney disease, which is one of my first loves. My leap into private practice has resulted from my experiences in kidney disease as 95% of my patients journey to kidney disease resulted from other disease such as diabetes, HTN and obesity. My aim is to provide preventative care to help prevent chronic illness in our nations.

Approach to care

“Good food is the foundation of health and genuine happiness.” To me food is as much about the culture, our childhood, the challenges in our life, the moments, our mood, the occasion, the location, the company, and the taste, as it is about its impact on our health and wellness. My role in your health journey is not one that focuses on a “diet,” but rather a focus on individualized teaching and provision of tools to make informed decisions about food as it relates to your health and way of life. Tools that you will continue to utilize throughout your lifetime.

Your first session with Tammilee

During our sessions together we will begin by creating a snapshot of your life in terms of your health, culture, day to day challenges and anything that is important to you. We will then work together in determining the direction of each session, which includes but is not limited to meal & recipe planning, macros, exercise & fitness, sleep health, and grocery shopping. I provide a judgement free environment, where you will feel free to ask about anything that concerns your well-being. I know I will be a good fit for your health and nutrition journey. I look forward to working with you!
