About Taniesa

Hi, I’m Taniesa (pronounced tuh-nee-suh), and I'm passionate about helping you reach your nutrition and wellness goals through a compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based approach. I specialize in weight management, diabetes (including prediabetes and gestational), pregnancy, heart health, kidney disease, PCOS, menopause, IBS and other GI conditions, inflammation, cancer, fatty liver disease, plant-based eating, and mindful eating. My professional experience includes working with college students at Columbia Medical School, dancers and artists at The Juilliard School, professionals in high-stress fields such as law enforcement, attorneys, and executives, and marginalized communities including LGBTQ+ and BIPOC individuals. With so much nutrition misinformation out there, I focus on providing clarity, reassurance, and strategies backed by science, so you can feel confident and supported every step of the way.

Approach to care

I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition. My goal is to truly listen and understand your needs so we can create a plan that aligns with your lifestyle, values, and cultural food preferences. My approach emphasizes: Compassion, empathy, and cultural awareness; Mindful eating and a non-judgmental atmosphere; Building sustainable habits that fit real life; Holistic care that considers your mind, body, and lifestyle. Together, we’ll focus on small, meaningful changes that make a lasting impact on your health without guilt, restriction, or confusion. I’ll help you increase nutrition confidence, simplify food choices, and enjoy nourishing your body with foods that work for you.

Your first session with Taniesa

Our first session is all about you. We’ll discuss your goals, challenges, daily habits, and your personal “why” for wanting to make changes. I’ll take the time to listen and understand your health history, preferences, and routines to ensure your plan is both personalized and realistic. By the end of our session, you’ll have: A clear understanding of your current nutrition habits; Realistic goals tailored to your needs and priorities; Practical, achievable steps to get started right away. You’ll leave feeling supported, encouraged, and confident that you’re on the right path toward improving your health and relationship with food.

Hobbies

As a working mom of two little ones, my free time is devoted to being fully present with my kids and creating lasting memories—whether we’re playing, going to the park, cuddling up for a movie night, or enjoying a fun staycation. When I do get time for myself, I love taking dance classes, hiking Southern California’s beautiful trails, and staying engaged with what’s happening in the world. I’m passionate about supporting equity, uplifting marginalized communities, and being intentional about where I spend my money to support businesses that align with my values.
