Patient reviews

  • Tara is so kind, so knowledgeable, and creates a safe and comforting space to learn and evolve along your health journey. I truly believe she saved my life - I am so grateful for her guidance and support.

  • Tara is amazing. She is straightforward and knowledgeable. I will be asking her a million questions, and she will have a million answers. I love that she doesn't mind telling me to slow down and handle one thing at a time. Once we get this taken care of, then we can go to the next. Baby steps to overall health. Not just weight loss!!!

About Tara

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. I enjoy expanding my understanding on the intricate relationship between food and health. I understand quite well the patient perspective as I have been in that role extensively in the healthcare industry; for myself, my family, and my friends. I know firsthand the time and effort it takes to involve enough specialists to manage whole-body conditions. Even with this effort, a definitive diagnosis is not always reachable. Due to the influence of my own health challenges: I love coming up with a sensible primary plan while keeping a plan B in reserve if the results are not positive.

Approach to care

My primary focus is prediabetes, diabetes, and heart health. I can assist with weight management for conditions in my primary focus (as appropriate), but weight loss alone is not my specialty. A significant amount of our initial work together will be spent in a holistic review of your lifetime. Even though we will meet virtually (often weekly), we will get to know each other well. You may occasionally see my two adorable dogs as they frolic and sleep under my desk. We will discuss your stress levels, sleep quality, family and spiritual support systems, activity, and of course food! We begin here because over time all of these components create the person you are today.

Your first session with Tara

Our first appointments will focus on getting to know you! We will discuss your medical history, nutrition knowledge and habits, and current daily routine. You and I will work together to define the what (reason for seeing a Dietitian), why (why is it important to you), and how (what are you willing/able to do) of your health. Short- and long-term goals will be made starting at our first session and revisited throughout our journey together. Please note my primary session hours are Monday-Thursday 7:00am-2:00pm CT.
