About Tara

Greetings! I'm a Registered Dietitian with over 15 years of experience, passionate about empowering others to take charge of their life and health, maximize healthspan, and live life to the absolute fullest! Throughout my experience working in private practice, outpatient clinics, and in the hospital setting, I have helped hundreds of people improve the quality of their diets, lose weight, improve health, and FEEL BETTER. I have deep expertise in plant-based nutrition, having followed a whole-foods plant-based diet for nearly 20 years. In addition to health, wellness, & longevity, I am also passionate about helping endurance athletes attain their training and racing goals. Having completed 6 Ironmans, numerous marathons, and other endurance events myself, I have both the knowledge and experience to help new and experienced endurance athletes establish dietary patterns that support the demands of training, as well as plan and execute race-day nutrition strategy.

Approach to care

Chronic disease is NOT a natural consequence of aging and not something that you inevitably have to live with. I use an empathetic, non-judgmental, and evidence-based style to help you shift away from society's default Standard American Diet (SAD), and gradually towards more energy-sustaining meal patterns and food choices based predominately on whole plant foods such as vegetables, fruit, beans, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. Guiding my approach is the philosophy that the healthiest foods are those in the closest form to which they were grown.

Your first session with Tara

What is your mission, aspiration, or purpose in life? I want to learn what matters most to you and how I can help you reach the vision you have for yourself through improved nutrition. In our first session, we'll get to know each other and I'll walk you through a nutrition assessment which will help me better understand how it is to live your current day-to-day life. I will seek to understand the outcomes you'd like to get out of our partnership. We'll talk about some of your longer term goals and set one or two short term goals to work on for the next session. In follow up sessions I will provide accountability, ongoing nutrition education, and support in any other areas that may be impacting your health and wellness such as physical activity or sleep, for example.
