About Tate

Tate is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. She's worked over 15 years in a variety of patient settings with all types of diabetes (Type 1, LADA ('1.5'), Type 2, Pre-, gestational, etc.) and associated disorders and diseases, like metabolic syndrome, hypothyroidism, insulin resistance, kidney, liver, cardiac (heart), cognitive and more. She also has experience with pre and post bariatric patients, disordered and emotional eating.

Approach to care

Tate meets you where you currently are functioning. She listens and cares about your health goals. And she wants to work with you and your goals to help get to the underlying reasons things are happening rather than using a 'band-aid' or 'one size fits all' approach. She's not afraid to be inquisitive - that's how she'll get to know you so she can work more closely with you to help you achieve your goals. Tate has many tools and thinks outside the box so you are never without a strategy or tool. Her goal is to empower you with tools and knowledge so that you can move forward with your personal decisions and choices with nutrition, health and overall well being.

Your first session with Tate

Expect to have Tate's listening ear for your story. 55 minutes of her attention for and about you. You'll get into your history, the why you are here, the short and long term goals you might have (and if you don't know, you can definitely discuss them). The more honest you are, the more Tate can help you, help you. You may not get to everything the first day, but be assured, with all the information you provide, Tate and you will be able to create a personalized plan, schedule follow up sessions and continue to move forward.
