About Taylor

Hi, I’m Taylor and I am very excited for the opportunity to work with you. I was born and raised in West Michigan, and after a lot of moving around a few places in the U.S. in my adult years, I have moved back to my hometown to raise my family. I graduated from University of Alabama and completed my dietetic internship through Iowa State University. I have a background in clinical, both inpatient and outpatient nutrition, working with eating disorders and mental health, as well as community nutrition, working with WIC (Women, Infants, and Children). I love working with individuals on finding food enjoyable again, while nourishing their bodies adequately so they feel great, both physically and mentally.

Approach to care

My approach to care is focusing on you as a unique individual, with unique goals and nutritional needs. I will meet you where you are and help you in navigating in, what seems to be, the “complicated” world of nutrition. It does not have to be complicated, and I am here to make it simpler for you. We will work together towards meeting your nutrition goals in a realistic manner, that will fit into your lifestyle, using evidence-based information. My hope is that after each session you will feel empowered and supported; not overwhelmed, but instead motivated with a “I can do this!” feeling. I do not want you to feel restricted, especially with food, because food is the best! Food will start to feel BOTH enjoyable and beneficial to your well-being.

Your first session with Taylor

I use the first session as time to get to know you, so I can best know how to support you on this journey. There is nothing to be nervous about. In the past I have had my own struggles with my relationship with food and difficulties with proper nutrition, so just know you are not alone. We will do an initial assessment, where we will discuss your goals, medical history, any recent relevant lab work, lifestyle, and typical eating patterns. From there we can explore a general roadmap for how future session will look. At every appointment we will collaborate on SMART personalized goals to work on until the next time we meet.
