About Teena
Teena's mission is to empower BUSY individuals to prioritize their health, make nutritious choices, and prevent disease for an energetic, enjoyable and fulfilling life. She has a passion for nutrition. Teena earned her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Human Nutrition Foods & Exercise from Virginia Tech. She has been a Licensed, Registered Dietitian for more than 16 years. She believes nutrition has the power to reverse and/or prevent disease and is thrilled to show you how making nutritious choices is the ultimate time saver for busy people.
Approach to care
Teena uses a client-centered, partnership-based approach to care. Instead of prescribing a rigid plan, she takes time to truly understand each client’s unique story, lifestyle, preferences, challenges, and goals. She asks open-ended questions, practices active listening, and validates her client’s experiences so they feel heard and respected.
Your first session with Teena
During the first session, you can expect a thorough review of your nutrition and health journey up to the current date. This may include exploring topics such as: Why do you want to work with a Dietitian Your current eating patterns, routines, and preferences Past experiences with food, diets, or health care Any challenges, barriers, or concerns you've faced Collaboratively, the dietitian and client will work on goal setting and planning next steps, based off the information obtained at the beginning of the session.
