About Thanh
Hi! I'm Thanh Thanh (she/her) - a weight-inclusive Vietnamese registered dietitian based in NYC. I am passionate about helping clients reconnect with their bodies and heal their relationship with food. I believe food should be joyful, or at the minimum, effortless, and I enjoy supporting my clients to reclaim joy in food and eating, and in taking care of themselves. My approach to food and nutrition counseling is informed by both my educational training and my cultural background, and I always encourage my clients' to go for their cultural foods and favorite dishes.
Approach to care
I practice through a non-diet and weight-inclusive approach that incorporates affirmative and anti-oppressive values. In our nutrition counseling sessions, I aim to provide both the nutrition (information, evidence from research) and the counseling (space for you to talk about and process your thoughts and feelings). I draw from various therapeutic modalities and seek to create a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for you to be curious and explorative about food, eating, and your relationship with your body.
Your first session with Thanh
Lots of questions -- I want to get to know you! As much as I know food and nutrition, I can never know you the way you know yourself. As such, the more you can share about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, the better I am able to guide you as we work together.
