About Valerie

As a dietitian, I have experience in clinical inpatient/outpatient settings, diabetes education, and corporate wellness. I live and work in Idaho. I kinda like food (a lot) β€” I enjoy growing, cooking, discussing, and sharing it with my family and friends. I have a beautiful life with my husband, and I spend as much time as I can on the floor with my grandkids and my dogs, Jax and Zito. I see clients at my private practice, and I am excited to have the opportunity to help more people through Nourish.

Approach to care

Many factors influence food and lifestyle choices: your environment, family, friends, and finances. My approach is respectful of the individual and their unique health goals and challenges. I don't have just one strategy or approach β€” advice is tailored to each person and their circumstances. I provide evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle counseling, encouraging progress over perfection. Every meal, every snack, every day offers another opportunity to practice your desired health habits. I feel it is a privilege to help each person I work with achieve their best health.

Your first session with Valerie

It's my goal to help make better nutrition easier for you. I'll ask a lot of questions to understand what your typical day is like. How do you currently take care of yourself? What are your struggles? What do you want for your future self? At the end of our session, you will have some habit-shaping goals (that you select) to work on until our next meeting. I am here to support you with kind accountability, practical nutrition, and lifestyle suggestions.
