About Vanessa

Hello! My name is Vanessa and I am passionate about nutrition because of a dietitian I saw in college that helped me be the best athlete I could be! When I met her, I changed my major and the rest is history! I have a two-year-old at home, so my passion right now is spending time with family, spending time in nature and taking time to enjoy life!

Approach to care

When it comes to my appointments, it is very important to me to honor your culture and traditions. Historically, dietitians tried to change cultural habits, but it is my goal to make sure we are always adding nutrition without taking away foods you love! I want my clients to have a good relationship with food and not get stuck in "diet culture" so please expect our sessions to focus on your long term physical and mental health. As a child of two immigrant parents, who is trying to keep the traditions alive for my son, this is very important to me. I can also complete the session in Spanish for those who feel more comfortable in their native language.

Your first session with Vanessa

For our first session, expect me to ask lots of questions! I need to get to know you as well as possible in our hour-long sessions to be able to give you the best direction on how to reach your goals. My goal is to always meet my clients where they are when it comes to making changes. This means that we will work on 1-2 specific and reasonable goals to make sure the changes you make are something you can sustain for the rest of your life! I always remind my clients that you should expect to set short term goals that you can meet instead of doing a full 180 of your life. Feel free to ask questions if you would like to know any more about how our sessions will be structured!
