About Vanessa
Vanessa Sanchez is originally from Miami, Florida and is a first generation Venezuelan-American. As an active individual herself , Vanessa is passionate about sports nutrition and enjoys helping athletes and physically active individuals reach their optimal potential through food. Vanessa is also passionate about combating weight stigma and knew she wanted to incorporate the intuitive eating philosophy in her practice. Vanessa is passionate about helping others heal their relationship with food and feel confident in their skin. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys cooking, hiking with her dog, and taking a fun new workout class. Vanessa is excited to help you on your health journey!
Approach to care
Vanessa uses a non-diet and inclusive approach for reaching your health and nutrition goals. Vanessa likes to use humor as well as creative ways to teach you nutrition concepts in ways that are easily digestible for you. Your goals and what you want to achieve are the priority, so Vanessa will meet you where you are at and give you tangible goals to accomplish. As a Latina, incorporating cultural foods and understanding how these foods are nourishing is also important to Vanessa. The focus will be on ways to add food instead of take away foods. Overall, Vanessa is here to guide you and be your cheerleader on your nutrition and health journey!
Your first session with Vanessa
The first session is really where you and Vanessa get to know each other better. Vanessa understands how meeting with a RDN for the first time could be nerve-wrecking so the first session is used to become comfortable with each other and also for you to ask any questions you may have. During the first session, Vanessa will ask many questions to get to know your overall medical history, lifestyle, nutrition habits and health goals. From this, Vanessa will be able to develop a comprehensive nutrition plan for you based on your goals and overall health needs. At the end of the session a few action items may be made so you know what to work on until the next meeting.
