About Whitney

Welcome, I am so glad you are here! My name is Whitney, I've been coaching clients on an outpatient basis for the last 5 years. A little bit about me, I grew up on the Standard American Diet (SAD diet).. I'm talking frozen dinners, potato chips, soda, you name it! As I grew older and more aware of my body, I noticed common symptoms like anxiety, fatigue, brain fog, and low motivation. I didn't like these feelings and decided to make a commitment to improving my personal health. I completed my degree in Nutrition and an internship in clinical nutrition. While I learned a lot in the hospital, it wasn't fulfilling for me. That's when I discovered the role of nutrition in functional medicine. Its' focus is on treating the root cause of disease through diet and natural lifestyle interventions and it's completely changed the way I approach health and wellness for myself and others.

Approach to care

I'm passionate about getting to know you on an individual basis and tailoring my coaching approach to meet your unique needs. I center my coaching around my 4 core nutritional values: 1. Give food a purpose (we tend to prioritize things that have a purpose in our lives) - Food as Medicine vs. Foods that create disease 2. Eat the Rainbow 3. How to eat for sustainability and long term success 4. Food/Mood connection -Be aware of how food makes you feel. I apply these values in my sessions and focus on empowering you through a variety of coaching techniques, that include: nutrition education, motivational interviewing, eating plans, helping you find the purpose food serves in your life, food/brand recommendations, intuitive eating, knowledge testing, and SMART goal setting. You can expect that I will offer you honest feedback and encouragement in a safe and judgement free coaching space.

Your first session with Whitney

Our first session will center around getting to know you. We'll explore your health goals and current lifestyle and eating habits that may be contributing to your disease state. This information will be used to come up with a plan that meets you where you are at. We will talk about accountability, and the importance of consistency over perfection to find out what approach is most helpful to you for staying on track. At the end of our session, you will set SMART goals as the first step in getting you started on your empowered health journey! I cannot wait to meet you!
