About Willande

Food and creativity have shaped my life for as long as I can remember. I started cooking traditional Caribbean dishes in my preteen years. My first college degree was in art education, and then I taught for some time. Later on, I went back to school to study nutrition because my children experienced eczema with food sensitivities and allergies. I wanted to help them improve their health and also help others. For several years, I have been practicing as a Registered Dietitian and Cultural Nutritionist, bringing experience from telehealth nutrition counseling, private practice, community health, traditional cooking, and past classroom experience into my approach. I blend culinary know-how with nutrition science to help people build realistic, lasting habits. When I'm not working, you'll find me at my kids' soccer games, cooking, or reading about health and wellness.

Approach to care

I center evidence-based guidance in a warm, nonjudgmental space. Together, we'll take clear action steps to support long-term change, while honoring your values and daily life. I focus on the whole person, including sleep, stress, and routines, and I practice in a weight-neutral way that avoids diet culture. Education is key, so I explain the why behind recommendations and give practical tools we can adapt over time. We'll set realistic goals, track progress, and adjust as life evolves.

Your first session with Willande

Expect a low-pressure, collaborative conversation where you don't need to have everything figured out. We'll talk about your health history, routines, wins, and frustrations, and I will ask about cultural food traditions so we can make recommendations that actually fit your meals. If you're interested in functional nutrition or culturally responsive care, we'll tailor our plan to your family and food background. By the end we'll agree on one or two practical steps to try, so you leave with a clear, manageable starting point.
