About Yasmeen
I’m a Seattle-based registered dietitian blending cultural heritage with clinical science to support healthier lifestyles. Raised by a Nicaraguan mother and Pakistani father, I grew up surrounded by rich food traditions—often delicious but high in salt, fats, and fried ingredients. I saw how these patterns contributed to chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension in my community. My path began with a Physiology degree from the University of Washington and a love for fitness. Over time, I became fascinated by nutrition’s role in health—from the cellular level to the whole body. I earned my Master’s in Nutrition from USC, where I explored the biochemical side of how we metabolize food. For the past seven years, I’ve worked as a clinical dietitian in Seattle, helping diverse patients manage chronic illness, improve metabolic health, and navigate cultural eating patterns. I bring compassion, science, and cultural awareness to every encounter.
Approach to care
By utilizing evidenced-based research, I help people become their own food experts. With my guidance, you'll discover new ways to prepare foods without compromising taste and authenticity of your cultural cuisine, and become confident in making healthful food choices. Start your nutrition journey and begin nourishing your body in a way that is sustainable for you!
Your first session with Yasmeen
Our first session is all about you. We’ll have a thoughtful conversation about your lifestyle, eating habits, health history, and what matters most to you. I’ll complete a comprehensive nutrition assessment, including weight history, lab values, typical meals, past diets, medical conditions, supplements, and more. Once I understand your full picture, we’ll define your goals and explore how nutrition can support them. You’ll leave with realistic, personalized recommendations—no fad diets or one-size-fits-all plans, just evidence-based steps tailored to your body and lifestyle. By the end of the session, you’ll have clarity on your nutritional priorities and a few manageable steps to get started. We’ll also discuss whether follow-up sessions are right for you. My goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools to feel confident, motivated, and in control of your health.
