About Zoe

My name is Zoë Atlas, and I'm a registered dietitian nutritionist with over ten years of experience in helping my clients live their most vibrant lives. Originally from Berkeley, California, I grew up learning about food through hands-on cooking and gardening. I did both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Tufts University in Boston, and then returned to California to complete my dietetic internship, where I focused on the connection between nutrition and mental health. After obtaining my credentials, I continued my education by studying functional medicine with the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy. I am currently a lead clinical dietitian with the San Francisco Department of Public Health and a writer for Levels Health, where I explore all aspects of metabolic health. Outside of work, I play violin in two bands and love hiking, cooking, and traveling.

Approach to care

I take an evidence-based, individualized approach—grounding recommendations in the latest research while tailoring them to each person’s unique physiology and lifestyle. My philosophy is holistic, meaning we look at your whole self—physical, mental, and emotional health—to create a balanced and healthy life. As we work together, I'll help you identify what matters most to you and build your confidence in making choices that support your long-term wellness.

Your first session with Zoe

In our first session together, we’ll go over your medical history, lifestyle, and goals for the short and long-term. We’ll start by discussing your reasons for seeking out nutrition counseling and what you hope to achieve. Together, we'll create a plan that fits your needs, whether that's boosting energy, managing symptoms, improving overall health, or making cooking and eating more fun. You’ll leave each session with clear, realistic steps to follow, and we’ll refine along the way.
