About April

I am a registered dietitian with over 20 years of experience in nutrition, health education, and research - including published work in the field of health education and promotion. I understand what it’s like to juggle a full-time job, care for a family, and still try to prioritize your own well-being because I live it too. As an athlete and runner, I know firsthand how nutrition impacts energy, mood, and performance. And as a working parent, I get how hard it can be to make space for yourself in a busy life. That’s why I focus on helping you create realistic, sustainable strategies that fit your lifestyle, not someone else’s. Whether you're struggling with emotional eating, digestive issues, or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to listen, support, and guide you. Together, we’ll build a personalized plan that reflects your goals, values, and challenges so you can feel better in your body and confident in your choices.

Approach to care

My approach to care is rooted in empathy, expertise, and client empowerment. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. I specialize in women’s health, emotional eating, sports nutrition, and gut health, and stay current on the latest science to offer evidence-based guidance. I believe in personal accountability and collaborative goal-setting, clients lead the way, and I help shape realistic, time-focused plans that reflect their values and lifestyle. My counseling style is conversational and goal-oriented, focused on understanding each client’s story, identifying barriers, and celebrating progress. Together, we build sustainable strategies for lasting change.

Your first session with April

In our first session, we will dive into a comprehensive nutrition assessment to understand your lifestyle, medical history, and current dietary habits. Together, we will identify your nutritional needs and create a personalized plan that fits your lifestyle. We will set both short- and long-term goals that feel realistic and motivating, and schedule follow-ups to keep you supported and accountable. You will leave our first meeting with clarity, confidence, and a sense of possibility; ready to take meaningful steps toward your health goals!
